If your dog’s fur-tastic day out involves saltwater, sand and a long stretch to run, start with Woorim Beach South. This Bribie Island favourite gives dogs room to burn energy on the beach and in the shallows, with a 4.2km off-leash area running south from beach access 19 at Lowry Street.
Your furry companion can be exercised unleashed on the sand and water only, so keep them clear of the dunes and vegetated areas where wildlife habitat needs help protecting. Some sections of the beach are shared with 4WDs, so keep your pet within sight and stay alert while exploring.
A dog washing area near the entry makes the sandy ride home a little easier, with all the post-beach necessitates you need including a hose, bucket, and water bowl.
Want to kill some time while the pooch air dries? You’re steps away from the Woorim Beach esplanade, lined with cafes and restaurants offering plenty of pet-friendly spaces to unwind and dine, like the Blue Pacific Hotel’s outdoor beer garden on North Street.

Drop by Queens Beach North in Scarborough for convenient access to a free-roaming dog area, with parking available right on the foreshore.
Your best friend can stretch their legs along the Flinders Parade beach between the beach access stairs and the northern rock groyne; the carpark and grassed areas are not included. Choose Clontarf Beach Park when your dog needs a long walk and your car doesn’t need half the beach coming home with it.
Ideal for pets who love a long walk, the park allows on-leash exercise between the Woody Point Jetty and the Houghton Highway bridge. You can stretch your paws along the 6.5km waterfront pathway connecting Woody Point and Clontarf while enjoying uninterrupted bay views and the sounds of churning waves along the way.
