Woody Point Jetty has a rich history branching back to the 1880’s when it was built to accommodate the growing township of Redcliffe peninsula. Over the many years and generations, the jetty has had quite a few upgrades but has been a constant and favourite fishing location for locals to come with friends and family or by themselves to cast a line and unwind.

    The local choice when it comes to fishing for generations, Woody Point Jetty has plenty of room for the experienced and beginner fisher. While the optimal fishing time may vary, the catch from the jetty is decent all year round, attracting fishermen and women to cast a line into the bay.

    Quenching that Thirst or Quelling that Hunger at The ‘Bel’

    Woody Point Jetty is located in the southeastern end of Redcliffe and the surrounding area provides many different attractions to enjoy with the family or check out solo. These attractions include:

    • Crockatt Park; with facilities, playground and lush grass for relaxing Crockatt Park has something for all ages even those of us who are just big kids (there’s the flying fox).
    • Gyundah Coastal Arboretum: Home to the Gayunda Shipwreck which was used as a gunboat in the navy, the now shipwreck can be found at the southern end of the arboretum. The Arboretum also offers plenty of places for picnics and BBQ’s.
    • Pelican Park: A great place for a swim, Pelican Park is a popular place for locals. Hosting car shows, kite flying contests and a great place to do some jet skiing.
    • Moreton Bay Cycleway: for those who are into being active, the Moreton Bay Cycleway offers a great way to get out and about with Woody Point Jetty being one of many places to stop and take a break.
