Dayboro Visitor Information Centre is a non-accredited tourist info hub located inside Dayboro Cottage, the home of Dayboro Historical Society.
The Centre literally cannot be missed – the trees by the entrance are draped in colourful jumpers! Close by to the Centre you’ll find 2 more local institutions well worth a look – next door is the Hay Cottage Arts and Crafts Association, and nearby on the corner of Williams and Mount Mee Road you’ll find the and Dayboro Art Gallery.
Dayboro Visitor Information Centre is run by a team of local volunteers and is well stocked with tourist information, maps and brochures to help you plan your visit to the Dayboro District.
Come and talk to the friendly and helpful staff, who can provide advice on where to eat, where to stay, what to see and things to do in Dayboro and its surrounding areas, as well as give you ideas – from planning a day’s walk around town, to nutting-out a hiking holiday in the local national parks or advising on travel further afield – the knowledgeable staff can help you make the most of your time in the hinterland.
The volunteers also have indispensable hints, tips and advice for local adventuring, and if you’d like to learn about local history, they’re always happy to chat about their beloved town and its past.
All the Centre’s volunteers are members of Dayboro District Historical Society and are very willing to help with any enquiries about local families.
Aside from tourist information, the Centre is also in possession of old photographs, local history books, historical maps and information covering Dayboro’s growth from a small settlement in the 1860s to the thriving rural township of today.
