D’Aguilar National Park is a truly stunning region just north of Brisbane, with beautiful subtropical rainforests, eucalypt woodlands, and scribbly gum forests. The park’s picnic areas and walking tracks are between make a great day trip.

Rise early to chase the morning sun and enjoy a day break paddle on Lake Kurwongbah.
Sunday to Wednesday is open for public paddle craft use, such as kayaks and canoes. Paddling around Lake Kurwongbah is a great way to spend a day or take in some exercise in the early morning before work. Approximately 3.2 square kilometers in size, the lake offers a great diversity of local attractions, from the picturesque landscape, to bird watching and of course fishing

Get curious and visit your local museum. The littlies will love stepping back in time at the Abbey Museum or Art and Archaeology.

Make tracks and explore Bellthorpe National Park by 4WD.
Only a short drive west of Woodford, Bellthorpe National Park boasts the best 4WD tracks Brisbane surrounds in Moreton Bay Region. Bellthorpe National Park is located at the southern end of the Conondale Range, west of the Glass House Mountains and just 90 minutes from the Brisbane CBD.
Remnants of the park’s logging industry can still be seen at the Old Brandson’s Sawmill site on Bellthorpe West Road. It's a great place for a day trip out in nature.
Cruise your way along the Moreton Bay Cycleway. The Redcliffe Peninsula comes up trumps for having the best foreshore north Brisbane bike paths with The Moreton Bay Cycleway. The journey can be done without interruption or include stops for photos, coffee and lunch.
Once you've completed the Moreton Bay Cycleway, the Redcliffe Peninsula has another biking challenge with the Kippa-Ring to Petrie shared pathway. The 12.6km pathway stretches from Petrie Station to Kippa-Ring Station. Measuring 3m wide, it allows plenty of space for all types of users.
Join in the Redcliffe Australia Day celebrations at the gorgeous Suttons Beach for an easy-going, Aussie time. Australia Day in Redcliffe is free to attend and one the whole family can enjoy, with live entertainment, beach activities and a fireworks finale.
Head to the gorgeous Brennan Park, Bribie Island for family fun Bribie Island Australia Day celebrations. There will be live entertainment, beach and garden activities, a Lamington eating contest and a fantastic fireworks finale for the whole family to enjoy.
