Accessible by a winding mountain road, Mount Glorious is a hilltop that offers great walking trails, picnic and barbecue areas along with cafes. The trail paths are reasonably easy and are suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. This natural attraction is great to visit especially during the season of summer. Within this area there are a range of accommodation options for those wanting a peaceful weekend getaway. Mount Glorious is also wheelchair accessible so that everyone has the opportunity to observe the natural wonders of this truly special environment.

Bushwalk

There are great hiking trails for those wanting to take a bush walk through the mountain. The Maiala National Park offers a great picnic area if you wish to take a break and enjoy the beautiful natural environment. There are many shady spots and barbecue areas to sit down and have a picnic while you take a walk through the mountain. On your walk you may encounter some of the native wildlife. Make sure to keep your distance if you do come across the wildlife on your walk and be mindful of their habitat. There are several bushwalking tracks within this area, they include:

The Rainforest Circuit

Starting at the Maiala, this 2km return circuit offers trekkers a superb view of the subtropical rainforest. This track is easy for children of all ages and there is a lot of wildlife to encounter.

Cypress Grove Track

Off the Rainforest circuit, this track is a 2.5km return. It is also suitable for children of all ages.

Greenes Falls Track

Starting at the Maiala day use area, this track follows the Rainforest Circuit to begin with then it separates outward. The track is a 4.3km return and is also okay for children, so long as they like a challenge, as it is mostly an uphill trek towards the end.

Western Window Track

One of the final tracks that adventurers can take is also the shortest at a 1.2km return. This track starts at the Maiala day-use area and trekkers can get a great view of the west especially at sunrise. Once again, this track is suitable for people of most age groups.

Wivenhoe Lookout

Mount Glorious is also known for being a great lookout spot for Lake Wivenhoe, the largest lake in South East Queensland. From afar you will be able to absorb nature at its finest while overlooking the lush rainforests that lead out to this lake. The best time to enjoy this outlook is around dusk and dawn as the sun rises and settles over this scenic view.
