Central to Caboolture’s busy town centre, hides one of the region’s best water parklands, Centenary Lakes Park. Just off Morayfield Road and situated on the banks of the Caboolture River, Centenary Lakes is a beautiful parklands teeming with wildlife. A popular spot for nature loving photographers, the lakes is home to a wide selection of birds including cockatoos and ducks.
Centenary Lakes Park is the perfect destination for your family’s next little day out. With playgrounds, wildlife, picnic shelters, BBQ’s, walkways and large grassy areas to play and picnic, you can be sure your family will have a wonderful time.
Don’t forget to bring the scooters! The parklands has a network of pathways which are great for kids to explore.
If you’re looking to stretch your legs during a lunch break or enjoy exploring new locations to take a walk, Centenary Lakes Park is registered in Moreton Bay Region’s 10,000 Steps program. Starting from the Stringfellow Road entry, the walk loops around the full perimeter of Centenary Lakes Park, behind Caboolture Sports Centre and through Apex Park. The 2.1 kilometre or 2625 step walk, usually takes 20-25 minutes to complete and includes scenic views of the lakes and river.
If your four legged friend usually accompanies you on a morning walk, there’s a large fenced dog park near Friendship Grove where you can let them run wild – off leash!
Centenary Lakes Park, in addition to the walking loop, also has a wide selection of free public fitness gear.
With its picturesque settings, Centenary Lakes Park is a popular spot for garden weddings in the Caboolture area. There are in fact, four designated locations throughout the park to host a garden wedding ceremony.
It is suitable for large ceremonies and has a picturesque ferny area and lake as a backdrop for photos. Ample parking is available in the Elliot Street car park. Area size is 20m x 10m.
This secluded area is at the edge of the lake and is suitable for small ceremonies. It is close to car parking. Area size is 20m x 8m.
This area provides a choice of ceremony locations, either under the large tree in the secluded hedged area or the adjoining grassed space. Area size is 30m x 25m.
This large open grassed area has a variety of shady trees. Ample parking is available in the Elliot Street car park. Area size is 30m x 15m.
