You may have experienced 3D or even 4D cinemas at the Gold Coast or popular theme parks such as Dreamworld, but have you ever heard of a 7D cinematic experience? Business owners Adam and Casey Thompson, local to Redcliffe, first came across the 7D cinematic experience in San Francisco, California in 2013 and decided to bring the unique experience to Redcliffe.
At the Redcliffe Jetty Markets every Sunday from 8am - 2pm, you can enter a new dimension for the whole family to enjoy thanks to the mobile Redcliffe Dimensions 7D Cinema. Experience a virtual ride through a short movie and explore the depths of the Great Barrier Reef or the heights of the Great Wall of China. Ride sessions operate for as short as 4 minutes to as long as 20 minutes with the average length being a 10-minute ride, so strap yourself in for a family fun 7D experience.
For big kids and little kids alike, you can ride a rollercoaster or go on a four-wheel drive journey with each interactive movie changing each month. You can even hire the mobile 7D Cinema for your private party or event, attending vacation care facilities with a blue card certified operator!
A single ride starts at $10 for a child, $12 for an adult and $38 for a family of four. Redcliffe Dimensions will often have discounts and promotions running via their social media accounts as well as further discounts for groups and multi-ride deals.
The 7D Cinema combines 3D physical and environmental effects for an ultimate sensory experience. 7D stands for 7-Dynamic. This refers to the movement of the platform that works on a 3 degree of freedom (DOF) which allows up and down, front and back, left and right movements in sync with the onscreen activity. The experience also includes a variety of environmental effects including smoke, wind, rain, snow, bubbles, and a few other surprise elements depending on the ride storyline.
As well as operate the 7D ride in Redcliffe, they also have a 6-seat mobile cinema, an eclectic selection of retail items for your perusal in-store, a free-play arcade game, snacks and drinks, kids play table and resident T-Rex named Bruce!
Don’t forget to explore the Redcliffe Jetty Markets after your ride or explore the boutique businesses along Redcliffe Parade, stopping for lunch at some of north Brisbane’s best, award-winning restaurants.
